In March 2021, Abi Falase and Almeida Participation put an open call out for emerging young Black writers to be a part of Anthem, an initiative to support and encourage aspiring writers inspired by Lolita Chakrabarti's play Hymn. 

11 writers were then selected to be a part of a cohort of writers to receive more focused support. Over the a year, the writers developed their work receiving mentoring, notes and feedback from dramaturg Ola Animashawun and Abi Falase.

The final phase has seen the 11 plays benefit from a research and development process led by Abi Falase with the Almeida Anthem Young Company.

As a celebration of their work, Anthem Live was a showcase of extracts of their plays which will be performed in front of an audience for the first time.
